I’m home.

Read no further if that’s all you need to know.

I love London, but really, I am very lucky to come home to a place I love more than any other place in the world. (This fact is confirmed upon each homecoming).

So no matter how much fun I have on a trip, and how many times I imagine moving and relocating to that town (I confess, I imagined living in London more than a few times this trip), I always come home, surprised at the beauty of where I live. What was I thinking? There is no place better than THIS!

Could it have been this beautiful all that time? Was that tree so brilliant and flowered before I left? Did the air smell so sweet? Was the sky so blue?

It has not always been convenient to live where I live (not because I live in a remote area–I don’t, but because traffic to my previous offices has always been horrendous and the distance lengthy), but I refused to compromise and for years I commuted fifty miles each way to and from work…and gladly did so. I simply refused to move to be closer to work.

Now I’m home–to the particular brilliant light that floods this place, and the sweet breeze and cool temperatures that rustle through the blossoming trees. Oh, and the frogs that ribbit their happy, lascivious chorus in our backyard.

  • Glad to hear you had a great trip Jade and equally, if not more, that you are home safely. There truly is “No place like Home!”……

  • home is the place where you look out the window of the plane upon descent, recognize the grid below, understand the character of the landscape, and feel the relief of being where you belong.

    welcome back!

  • Welcome home! I know that feeling, although having been home for a long while, I am itchy to get going again.

  • Thank you everyone–it’s good to be home. It was a terrific trip, too. My doctors told me to go stimulate my brain everyday and I realized that this trip was great for me.

  • Your home sounds wonderful. As did your trip! Welcome back.
